Topic 1: What Should Leaders Do at Our School?

Most people choose what is easiest, but leaders should choose what is necessary. Whilst the ‘necessary’ elements differ at all schools this topic will explore four key actions of leaders everywhere: serving the needs of others, role modelling school values, making improvements, and taking ownership for opportunities.

Topic 2: Integrity- The Way I Can Lead Every Day

Everybody can have a positive influence on others by being a person of integrity. We explore five student-friendly ways to show integrity as part of daily school life. These tips include always telling the truth, aiming for high standards, acting according to your values, apologising for mistakes, and ensuring actions always match your words.

Topic 3: New Ideas for Our School

If students are going to put time and effort towards new ideas, it is important that these ideas help address real challenges that the school experiences. This practical workshop will showcase dozens of impressive ideas that students have implemented at other schools, which are also realistic and meaningful. Activities during this workshop will enable students to have discussions with other schools, to share experiences and generate new ideas together.

Topic 4: The Challenges Leaders Face with a New Idea

This topic equips students with the strategies needed to take ownership of their ideas. It breaks down how to clarify an idea, seek permission to proceed, compromise when needed, and balance the new idea with other demands. Students will take the first steps to planning a new idea during this session.
